Where is God in Our Government? Reflections on President Trump's Promise to America

October 27, 20255 min read

I want to share something that's been weighing heavy on my spirit for quite some time, but especially so after watching President Trump's inauguration today. As the Anointed Attorney™, God has called me to bring Jesus justice to God's government, and in that pursuit, I've been wrestling with this question: "Where is God in our government?" Let me share what God revealed to me.

In 2023 God led me to read John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (NIV)

I have read that scripture many times over the years, but this time when I read it the word "branches" stood out to me. I immediately thought of the three branches of government. Executive. Legislative. Judicial. At that time all I could think about was how WE are the branches, and if we do not remain in Christ, our branches will wither, be picked up, thrown into the fire, and burned! With one demonic law after another, our nation was in trouble. So our country could continue to do what it wanted to do and go on without Jesus Christ and God, or we could decide to choose God, and never forget him.

Fast forward to today's inauguration, President Trump boldly declared, "we will not forget our God." That statement resonated with me deeply, especially when I consider the oath of office taken by the President of the United States. A while back I spent time studying the different oaths of offices taken by several positions in government, including attorneys, politicians, and judges. God showed me during the inauguration today that there is something powerful about the distinction between the presidential oath and other government oaths that most people don't realize.

The presidential oath is unique - it focuses purely on protecting and defending the Constitution. But here's what's striking: other oaths, like the oath of the Vice President explicitly say "so help me God" while at the same time pledging allegiance to the Constitution of the United States. The presidential oath notably does not. Now as someone who's taken oaths as an attorney, this difference speaks volumes about where we place our ultimate allegiance as leaders.

I've studied every single attorney oath in all 50 states, and most of them have us pledging allegiance to everything but God! We pledge to the Constitution, to the state, to the courts... but where is our allegiance to the Most High?

God has shown me that we're in a season where He's strategically placing His people in positions of influence. When President Trump spoke about "the golden age of America begins right now," I reflected on how God is moving in our government.

Consider the Seven Mountains of Influence. Government is just one of them, but it's MY mountain - the one God called me to. And watching today's inauguration, I witnessed something powerful: a leader acknowledging that without God, our nation cannot truly prosper. "Apart from me you can do nothing."

In his address, Trump said something that aligned so perfectly with what God has been showing me. He talked about restoring the American promise and rebuilding our nation. He ended by saying we are "one glorious nation under God." Yes. YES. YES! This isn't just political rhetoric; this is an acknowledgment of divine authority.

When I heard Trump say, "I was saved by God to make America great again," it reminded me of something crucial: our leaders need to understand that they answer to a higher authority. Just like in Hebrews 6:13-18, where God swore an oath to Himself because there was no one greater than him, our highest allegiance must be to the almighty God Himself.

I understand that some might feel uncomfortable when we talk about God in government. But we cannot separate our faith from our service. Daniel served in government without compromising his faith. Esther used her position of power to save her people. Joseph ruled an entire nation while honoring God. Why can't we do the same now?

We're entering a season where God is calling His people to take their places in government, not just to serve, but to transform it through godly influence. The president's acknowledgment of God in his speech isn't just symbolic - it's prophetic.

Many of you reading this won't agree with me. In fact, some of you think I'm delusional as a Black woman to even consider supporting President Trump's remarks. But this isn't about politics. And this definitely isn't about me or President Trump. It's about GOD. This is about understanding where our ultimate and true allegiance lies. When we pledge allegiance to anything - whether it's to the Constitution, to our state bar, or to our office - we need to remember that our ultimate allegiance is to God.

I'm challenging every believer in government service: examine your oaths. What have you pledged allegiance to? Are you serving God first in your position? Because the truth is - just as President Trump acknowledged today - we need God back in our government.

We can serve faithfully in our government roles while keeping God first. That's not just possible - it's essential. As we move forward under new leadership, let's remember that true transformation in our government won't come just from new policies or executive orders, but from people of faith taking their positions and serving with divine purpose.

The golden age isn't just about economic prosperity or national security - it's about returning to our divine purpose as a nation. And as the Anointed Attorney™, I'm compelled to tell you: God is moving in our government, and He's calling each of us to play our part in His plan.

Let's step into this new era with our allegiance firmly placed in God first, knowing that when we honor Him in our service, everything else will fall into place. Because as President Trump reminded us today, we are indeed "one glorious nation under God."
